Tweed sea-trout adventure

Here are some shots of a typical big Tweed sea-trout caught by my friend Andrew Nathan on the lower Tweed last week. Andrew did well to get this sea-trout (7 lb+) and a salmon on the trip , while his son James managed a nice salmon with almost his last cast of the trip.

I have had some excellent Tweed trips with Andrew (who also lost a sea-trout he estimated at 15 lb after an exciting air-borne fight), including 5 days during the good summer sea-trout run of 2002, when we had 24 sea-trout to 10 lb (I had 2 of 5 lb plus) and a couple of grilse, with Andrew’s pal Nigel.

Anyway, good fiske Andrew, in low water too.

Fresh seven-pounder. The Tweed produces very good-looking sea-trout
