A Fenland sunset

I took this picture about ten days ago on an evening wander down to the far corner of our meadow. The drain is the Soham Lode and it has a fair few coarse fish in it, including some quite big pike. Maybe I’ll have a cast for them soon (now that I have finally bought my EA fishing licence). I’m not great at doing fishing other than salmon fishing these days but I should try. Still it’s a good spot.

Looking west to Middlemere

Anyway next post I’ll get some more salmon adventures up here. A steady stream of big salmon (20 lb plus) are being caught on the Gaula now, still lower down the river. As for Scotland, there seems a serious shortage of good fishing water just now.
