Adventure on Guide Flyfishing’s new blog

American dreams, eh? Guide Flyfishing’s Waterworks ULA reel and Rio AFS shooting head lines are certainly that. I used both in Russia recently so was really happy to send a report to the new blog at Guide Flyfishing. See it at – and although Guide Flyfishing source other tackle from countries such as Finland, their American gear really is first rate – beautifully engineered and reliable. And with more affordable (Waterworks/Lamson) reels such as  their Konic and Guru coming through, still with their sensational patented conical drags, you can feel confident when that bar of silver decides to take off in the other direction. (Doesn’t always work out but you can feel confident!)

As for Rio AFS shooting heads – as I told John Legg at Guide Flyfishing – they were a revelation for my salmon fly-fishing and I have not looked back since using one in Norway two years ago.
