Andrea’s first salmon

“I was on my own, a beautiful day, no-one around for miles and hooked a lovely fish. I remember being told to stand with my shadow behind me, that was all. The thrill was fantastic.”

These are my aunt Andrea’s memories of a Deveron salmon caught one day years ago near her Aberdeenshire home. It reminds me, as if I need it, why it is that we go fishing.
(Andrea, I love it – pure poetry!)
