News from the Gaula is that the river has been quite high but is settling in nicely. There are high hopes for the season, particularly among the new management and those who count ourselves friends of the Norwegian Flyfishers Club.
I go out to the Gaula a week today, if you’d like to join my next group, August 4-11, I have full details and inclusive prices & you’d be very welcome. It’s a lovely week to go, with the Gaula stocked with salmon of all sizes but with the emphasis on big! Beautiful summer conditions with riverside barbecues & a good social atmosphere hosted by Enrico Cristiani, Per Arneberg & Daniel Stephan and the team. Also a grilse run and some sea trout. Fab s/c accommodation in Norwegian farm houses and traditional fishing cabins. And of course the finest & most extensive fly fishery including brand new fishing beats on middle Adams lower (below Gaulfossen) river.
It is my 5th consecutive year of visiting and I’ve never had a blank year. I will show you pools and access but you can also hire a guide from the Norwegian Flyfishers Club for any number of days.
