High on Criffell

The Nith being anchored to summer low and being on our less favoured beat 2 yesterday we took the chance to go hill walking down at the Nith estuary.
To cut a long story short, after visiting New Abbey we climbed Criffell which at 2,000ft puts it somewhere near the likes of the Dales’s Three Peaks and after a strenuous climb team Giles was able to get this shot away.
The view is West towards the Stranraer coast road. Beautiful.
Fishing: not promising I’m afraid although we hooked and lost a sea trout on Monday in broad daylight.
On the arguably best best 3 today.
