After an exciting Day 1 yesterday, Christopher and I drove the Ford right next to the river at Stett pool this morning (above).
Christopher (above) fished well and I hope I did with a wee Green Machine turle-knotted to a long
12lb Maxima leader.
But the only fish we saw was a ten pounder in Kim’s which we fished next before lunch but by then it was clear the water had been rising all morning and our hopes were slim.
So home for a fab lunch of copious Aberdeen Angus (but Canadian) beef and we’re taking it easy pm before attending a Miramichi conservation evening further down the valley this evening. Should be good and with the rest of the week now set fair and warming, the fishing should be good as the (now rather brown) river keeps dropping.
I’ll leave you with this Canadian emblem of the fall colors now kicking in across this wildly scenic place.
