A Happy Burns Night 2021 to y’all

O wad some Power the giftie gie us / To see oursels as ithers see us!”

Robert Burns, a poet for all.

Wishing you all A happy Burns Night!

And a safe passage through these days.
I fished here at Dalswinton, on the facing bank of Burns’ Ellisland pool in August just gone. Sadly the water was a little high and I couldn’t connect with a Nith salmon. Burns lived, farmed and wrote a quarter (130) of his poems and songs at Ellisland Farm from 1788-91.

  1. I had read that all of Burns direct descendants were dead and the blood line lost, but now I read that there are over 900 known living. Could I be so fortunate as to be 901!
